Frequently Asked Questions

“Do I have to completely stop drinking to work with you? Can I just cut back instead?”
  • For the GROW package: I can’t force you to make any changes you don’t want to make, but I will say it's ideal. You're going to get more out of it if you can take a clean break from booze.
  • For the THRIVE package: Complete abstinence is highly recommended to participate in this coaching program.

“What can I expect by the end of this?”
My promise to you is that this program will help you clarify where you are with your relationship with alcohol. You’ll know without a doubt if it’s a dysfunctional relationship, and whether you truly want to maintain your habits, or cut it off.  The goal here is to show you that you can live a satisfying life without booze.  You’ll love yourself and your life so much that you won’t want – or need – to numb, filter or darken your days with alcohol.  You’ll stop questioning so you can access the vibrant life you deserve.

“Why 30 days or 60 days?”
I’ve found that 30 days is a wonderful first step to try sobriety on for size. It’s less intimidating than 60 days, but long enough to help you “see” how you feel, act and live without alcohol. (And trust me, even people who aren't ready to give up alcohol for good still benefit from 30 days without drinking, with things like amped up energy, glowing, dewy skin and overall better health.)

The 60-day program, however, is designed specifically for those who’ve been alcohol-free already and will also result in deeper, more transformative results.

“How is this different than just going to 12-step meetings or counseling?”
I believe everyone should have multiple tools in their sobriety toolkit–so you can definitely partner with me alongside attending meetings, or seeing a therapist, or doing any other form of treatment. This program is meant to hold you accountable and provide you with someone you can turn to at any time.

I’m brimming with valuable resources that supported my sobriety in my early days and continue to support my own sobriety today–and I’m beyond happy to share them with you with an open, full heart. In fact, that’s exactly what I’d love to do–give you the information I wish I’d had at the beginning, when trying to figure out what was really going on with my drinking.

"I know you're not a therapist, but I really feel like I need someone to talk to.  Sobriety feels so lonely and most of my friends still drink.  Is it ok if I share my personal stories with you?"

Of course you can, and I hope you will!  One of my favorite parts of coaching is to be quiet and bear witness to what my clients are experiencing.  It gives me deep insight about who you REALLY are on the inside.  I promise to hold a safe space for EVERYTHING you're feeling - anger, sadness, isolation, guilt, fear, etc... ALL OF YOU is welcome here.  The more I know about you, the easier it will be to work together to build actionable goals to get you to where you need to be.
